GEP 2 Project

DO WE MOVE THE EARTH WHEN WE RUN?

INTRODUCTION

Many students have problems with scientific subjects as they often do not see a practical application of what they study. Most of them think Science is an isolated subject from real life. On the other end, Physical Education is often seen as a completely practical subject, where physical exercises are done without being aware that some basic Physics laws can optimize our effort.
Therefore, the project tries to engage the students in practical activities about the Forces in Trail Running, experimenting on themselves the advantages of knowing the scientific background behind each action.

CONCLUSIONS

The project was carried out with positive results. The students' engagement was noticeable and the whole group could practise merging the three subjects together: Physics, PE and English language.
All of the objectives were accomplished. The outcomes were presented at the High School and shared with the Primary School students.
